About Vancouver Island
Vancouver Island is about 300 miles long and 60 miles wide. It is located along the south western coast of British Columbia, just north of Washington State.
Much of the population dwells along the beautiful, protected east coast plain. There is a rugged mountain range that runs through the centre and areas like Strathcona Provincial Park
are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The north and west coast of Vancouver Island offer kilometres of untouched beaches including the world famous Long Beach in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
There are several large, clear lakes located on Vancouver Island. Elk Lake
and Thetis Lake
are located close to Victoria and are great for swimming and lakeside picnics.
